With so many awesome Lego creations that my sweetie pie puts together, I wanted to find a great inexpensive way to display all of this awesome creativity. With just four pieces of pine plywood (mine was leftover from another project), some clear coat polyurethane, and black shelf brackets from IKEA, I created some great DIY Lego Shelves and have added great space for tons of Lego displays.
Here what you’ll need for these easy DIY Lego Shelves 🙂
- Choice of wood (I used pressed pine) cut to desired lengths – I made 4 pieces sized 7.5″ W x 24″ L. Mine was left over from another project – score!
- Sand your wood using a palm sander and wipe down with a rag
- Stain color of your choice (I just did a clear coat over the pine for a light, natural look)
- Allow the wood to dry and hang with your choice of shelf brackets. I used IKEA’s EKBY Black Shelf Brackets for just $0.75/each! If you don’t have an IKEA near you, you can buy them on Amazon for just a little bit more.
And here they are hung up in the super awesome possum lego and craft room! They are doing their job well :).
These lego shelves have been soooo helpful to not only display items, but also to help keep the lego table workspace freed up for even more creations. What are your favorite ways to display Legos?
