There are so many options in trying to figure out how to display all your wonderful family photos and artwork. Even just the variations on gallery wall ideas and layouts can be overwhelming! To help simplify the gallery wall, I have found that picture ledges offer a ton of flexibility without having to precisely measure and hang each individual piece of art you want to display. There are a ton of Pinterest DIYs to build your own ledges, or you can purchase them inexpensively from IKEA :)!
IKEA Picture Ledges
I had previously bought IKEA’s RIBBA picture ledges which they no longer carry. BUT, they currently sell the MOSSLANDA picture ledge in two lengths and a variety of colors. These ledges are super similar to the RIBBA; they are just a little deeper and have an extra groove running across the bottom to help keep items in their place. If you don’t have an IKEA near you, there are lots of picture ledge options on Amazon as well!
With our living room makeover, I was excited to find an amazing way to show off pictures of my sweet family. Two of these ledges fit perfectly between our two living room windows and I love how easy it is to mix and match different sizes and colors of frames. The ledges allow a lot of flexibility to change items out without drilling a ton of different holes in our walls!
I chose to include a few frames with a pop of color since my walls are really light and the ledges are white as well. I was a little unsure about it at first but love having a bit of color in the mix :)!
Since the ledges are the only thing securely screwed into the wall, I can change up the sizes and colors of the frames any time without doing any further damage to our walls. Have you tried picture ledges? Do you have a favorite way of showing off your sweet photos?
