Kid’s Costume Storage and Organization

Kid's costume storage

I don’t know about you, but I love seeing my kiddo dress up as his favorite superheroes! When designing his new bedroom, I wanted to have all of his kids’ costumes right at his fingertips. His friends especially love emerging from his room as all kinds of different characters!

Kid’s costume display breakdown

At our previous house, I had used a metal wall organizer (similar to this one!) in the laundry room for our mail and keys, but decided to go a different route for that in our new house. As I love to repurpose items we already have on hand, I thought the organizer would be perfect. And, I was right – it’s been great! The hooks can hold a lot of different capes and the baskets are perfect for small felt masks, flashlights, walkie talkies and anything else a kiddo superhero may need.

Now, if only my son didn’t have an overabundance of masks and helmets, we would be all set. But, alas, he has more than his fill. To take care of the overflow, I simply used one of our existing baskets and hung a full-length mirror above the basket. This allows our little guy and his buddies to check their awesome selves out with all of their gear on :)!

If you are looking to add some inexpensive costume options to your kiddo’s costume wardrobe, I highly suggest checking out AliExpress! I was able to get each set (a felt mask and a cape) for about $3.00/each! That’s a super great deal and they have a ton of designs to choose from.

This project goes to show that for very little money, or even just repurposing some old items from around the house, you can create a special kid’s costume storage area as well!

Oh, and if you are wondering what the rest of little buddy’s room and loft bed look like, stay tuned for future posts! I’ll continue to reveal his awesome bedroom featuring a hidden hide-out with nerf gun storage and a secret passage way :). If you want a sneak peek though, here you go! To learn more about the dark night sky you see in his room, check out this post!
