Once again, I’ve turned to a couple of IKEA classics to hack together an inexpensive child-sized craft table for our kid's Lego and craft room. I wanted something that would be at the appropriate height for my 5-year-old, have a considerable amount of workspace and provide some additional storage. And, most of all, be inexpensive. I had a hard time finding anything that met all of these criteria, so IKEA hack it was! If you are unsure what the proper table and chair height is for your kiddo, … [Read more...]
DIY Wood Clipboards to Display Kid’s Artwork
Hello there! I'm back with yet another way to nicely display your children's artwork while keeping it super easy to change out what is on display. DIY Spray Painted Matboard
Ok, here's the deal. Once upon a time, long long ago, I owned a small business with a photographer and did a lot of framing in my basement. I had a nice matboard cutter and a plethora of matboard. Any time I wanted to mat something or frame anything personally, I had everything at my fingertips and it was uber inexpensive. Fast forward to now, 2019, and I haven't … [Read more...]
DIY Spray Painted Glass Vases

Wanting to be as frugal as possible as we were reeling financially from the cost of moving and from various other expenses that came up (like me accidentally triggering our fire extinguisher in EACH of our two cars, garage doors breaking, unexpected medical expenses, etc.), I decided to hold onto these green guys even though they didn’t match my décor. Enter spray paint. I love spray paint. You … [Read more...]
Capturing Special Memories with Pictionary Artwork
So, if you haven’t heard already, my family loves playing games. That included playing a lot of cards with my grandparents when they were still alive. For extra kicks, we would bust out Catch Phrase or Pictionary on occasion because it always resulted in ridiculous laughter. The best Catch Phrase clue that my grandpa ever gave was, “They’re in your pants…[long pause] ...you have two of them [long, awkward pause] … ” Having a team full of men (it’s always men vs. women) the guys were a bit … [Read more...]
